Sam Edelman parent company, Brown Shoe, rang The Closing Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) yesterday afternoon in celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary of listing on the NYSE. Brown Shoe is the 24th company to reach the century mark of listing on the NYSE.
Diane Sullivan, CEO, president and chairman of Brown Shoe Company did the honors. According to Sullivan, “100 years on the New York Stock Exchange is a humbling milestone. But now, more than ever before, Brown Shoe Company is right where it should be. Our past proves we have what it takes to succeed over the long term.”
Sam Edelman and his wife Libby were of course in attendance, accompanied by members of the Sam Edelman team. That’s right, Sam’s Girls were there! Celebrities (yep, celebrities!) in attendance included Black Eyed Peas front woman Fergie, singer Estelle, rapper Nelly, and Harper’s Bazaar editor/man-about-town Derek Blasberg. It goes without saying that everyone of these people looked fabulous.
The event, produced by David Stark Design was held at 4 World Trade Center featured music by DJ Kiss and a special performance by Jennifer Hudson.
